ABSTRACT
Saussurea insularis Kitamura was first recorded in Mt. Pekoon, Kwangyang-si, Chullanam-do. It had been considered as an endemic species to Isl. Tsushima, Kyushu, Japan. S. insularis is assumed to closely related to S. gracilis because it has ash-colored cobwebby hair on involucre and leaf beneath while young.
